I had been training with Vince for about a year before I got pregnant. I kept training throughout the pregnancy. Vince helped me, slowly backing off on weight as I needed. Training with Vince helped me stay strong through the pregnancy and gave me a way to stay fit after I could no longer run. The birth of my daughter went very smoothly. All of the squats I did really helped during labor and birth. The strength training has helped me the most post-pregnancy. Two months after and I was zipping up my favorite pair of jeans, not because I got back to exercising quickly but because I had been doing the training all along.
At 58 I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m stronger and fitter than ever—and that is quite a feat considering I’ve had cancer twice. Endomietrial and breast, five years apart. The hysterectomy wreaked havoc on my bones. I did all the things they were telling me to, but I still lost bone. So I pushed harder... and still lost bone. I ended up on bone medication—not the route I wanted. After the breast cancer, Vince convinced me to try heavier lifting. After my mastectomy I was really afraid of becoming weak and frail—so I decided to go for it. I had been running; this was a great complement to that. I loved getting stronger, and my butt and legs getting harder. I had less aches and pains. I didn’t wake up stiff in the morning... Well, unless I had done a heavy work out! No more lower back ache, I’m off bone medication at the moment. I’m hoping to keep it that way. But even if I go back on it, I like being strong and not feeling my age!
I have been in the military for over fifteen years, and completing the PT tests has been a challenge. .. I would beat score with mid-eighties out of 100 possible points. Since I have been going to Vinny's Gym I have scored over 90 points, two years in a row, and I [have maxed] out at least two of the four main components. This year I reached a goal I set four years ago and scored over 95. The training I get from Vinny's Gym not just gave me the upper body strength, but has increased my running strength, which allowed me to get one of my best run times in my military career. Thanks!
For the last 8 or so years I have been going to the gym, doing the machines and never really feeling like I was getting stronger. During that time I have been running as well, training for numerous 5K’s and 3 half marathons. I have had my share of knee problems and some back issues.
I began working with Vince over a year ago and I am stronger than I have ever been. This past September I completed my first sprint triathlon, I was able to finish in one hour and 43 minutes with one of my fastest 5K times after the swim and bike. Bless those squats!!!
Vince provides workouts that don’t just target one area but work groups of muscles and strengthen the core. His workouts are great fun, and I enjoy training with other women in a group setting.
I love training with Vince!
