Barbell training differs from other fitness methods by putting strength first. Strength is the beginning of health, both physically and mentally. I train people, people of all ages and body types, to be stronger in the gym and in life.
Barbell training also offers the benefit of quantifiable goals. Members of Vinny's Gym watch not only their own improvements on the achievement boards on the wall, but the progress of their fellow trainees, as well. We all move forward together, encouraging one another and pushing each other to reach strength heights that seemed impossible in the beginning. And the changes happen faster than you'd think.
Strength and health involve both body and mind. Women and men alike enter Vinny's Gym believing their bodies are incapable of movements and strength ideals that are well within reach. Often those movements and ideals even set the bar low for what these individuals can achieve.
But mastering the mind goes even deeper. I'm not here to sculpt my trainees' bodies into the the ones they think they want, based on the impossible, Photoshopped standards set by celebrities and the media. Overcoming unhealthy dreams is often the first step toward a strong, healthy body. Your shape will change if you train in a healthy way, and you will be happy with those changes; but you have to trust in me to care more about your health and pushing you to your full potential more than in your original dream.
Since 2010, Vinny's Gym has grown exponentially, but personal training has never stopped being a priority.
Small group trainings offer the attention of a personal trainer in a setting of community and encouragement. All members in group trainings work the same circuit, with me or another one of my trainers assisting individuals with form and incremental weight increase. Group trainings make for a fun atmosphere around a serious endeavor, which I believe is a big part of what brings members back month after month, and year after year, not just growing and improving in strength but also building lasting relationships.
Nobody--NOBODY--is too young, too old, too fragile, too scarred, too small, too overweight, too pregnant, too ANYTHING to take control of his or her strength.
I've had cancer survivors in my gym. I've had patients of severe physical injuries in my gym. I've had people who have had no luck in physical therapy up and on their feet again because of training in my gym. When you have a trainer who knows what he's doing and truly has your best interests at heart, and when you truly want to achieve all the things you never knew you could, then no excuse is big enough to surmount your affliction. Not one.
I work from a basic template for all training, but every training is modified for the trainee. High school athletes with specific goals for college sports and beyond often need one-on-one coaching that they can't get on a team.
If you are looking for one-on-one training once or twice a week to supplement your son or daughter's athletic training, fill out my contact form and explain your specific goals.
Achieving your best results depends on planning your day to make the best of your training, and that includes what you eat before and after your workout at Vinny's Gym.
I work with all my trainees to provide smart options to reinforce muscle after a hard day of training. I also send reminders out through my social platforms for what the circuits will be for the week and what trainees should plan to eat before coming to workouts. This enables members to make the most of their trainings before they even reach Vinny's Gym, and continue to take care of their bodies after departing.
Vinny's Gym is now offering a la carte options for training. If you want a little more time to hone a movement, taylor your training, or try something new, limited slots are available for one-on-one coaching. Ask during your next training about adding an hour or two each week, or submit your concept via the contact page.
First-timers to Vinny's Gym are usually surprised by the realness, the grit, of the gym. We use actual logs for log presses. We flip huge tires during peak weather. We've done tractor pulls, and atlas stones, and a long list of other exercises that you won't get to try at any other local fitness center.
I try to keep the workouts engaging and interesting, because your strength story is just that: a story. You want to tell your friends and family why you're so sore the next day. You want to feel good about what you are doing for your body. You want to have milestones for your strength journey.
But no one gets to the top overnight. Coming for one visit won't change your life. Make an appointment using the contact page to see if Vinny's Gym is right for you. Know that if it is, you're in it for the long stretch, the story, the journey.
